The cost of renting space in our laboratories is based on prices per day per scientist, hereinafter called a User Day. This implies that 1 person can work in the lab for 24 hours. The scientist will get access to the laboratories and their equipment, but accepts the possibility of sharing of these with other users.

Consortium members:

Non-consortium members:

Kings Bay AS also provides two other facilities which can be leased if the capacity in the Marine Laboratory is exceeded, or if there are groups/projects that do not need facilities only available in the Marine Laboratory to carry out the work (like seawater, tanks and temperature rooms). These two facilities are the "Vaskerilab" and the "Nansenlab" which have the following User Day prices:

Kings Bay AS reserves the right to allocate projects to the appropriate laboratories during high activity periods to make the best possible use of the facilities. Charges follow the initial reservations made.

Special prices

Special prices apply to projects which only need limited use of equipment or temperature controlled facilities in the Marine Laboratory. Note that projects paying for User Days have priority.

• These options depend on availability at any time.
• Rental of climate- or tank rooms is only possible if the room is not already reserved.
• Rental of climate- or tank rooms excludes the use of all other facilities in the Marine Lab. These are reserved for projects paying for User Days.

Prices for chemical waste handling

Chemical waste (inorganic and organic solvents etc.):

Radioactive chemical waste: 50 NOK per kg.
