The new project registration system for Kings Bay AS has been successfully launched on our web-pages. Please follow this link to access the registration form.
The new solution has been developed with assistance from the NPI and the SSF, to streamline the information flow to the Kings Bay AS' reception. A problem until now has been that registrations have been made in a number of different manners, which sometimes lead to confusion and misunderstandings. The registration form is found on our web-pages, including the front page. When using the form you will follow a step-by-step system allowing you to leave out any information not required to meet your needs. The form begins with necessary project information, then in sequential order follows: flight and accommodation, the Kings Bay Marine Lab registration, chemicals, Teisten, and polar bear and weapons course. By confirming, a receipt is sent back to you showing a summary of the information provided. From now on Kings Bay AS will kindly ask all institutes and researchers going to Ny-Ålesund to use the form, to allow for improved control and faster handling of the registrations. All institutes with own station in Ny-Ålesund will receive a copy of each registration made for their station, to ensure that we do not accept projects without approval or funding. The registrations will thereafter be handled by the Kings Bay AS' reception, and a confirmation will be distributed in the same manner as before. Please note that the form is not a booking form. In addition the new registration form is connected to the RiS-database which is supervised and administered by SSF in Longyearbyen. A RiS-ID is therefore required to fill in the form, which ensures that the RiS-database gathers information about all projects going to Ny-Ålesund. At the same time this also meets the demand from the Governor of Svalbard that all projects going to perform field-work register in the RiS-database. The solution has been tested for some time, but there might still be some hidden problems here and there. Please do not hesitate to inform us if you discover something which is not working well. |
