The Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, Ms. Helga Pedersen, visited Ny-Ålesund on Friday 27. March.

She was accompanied by her political adviser, Ms. Anne Cathrine Berger and The Governor of Svalbard, Mr. Per Sefland. Kings Bay AS, represented by Advicer, Ms. Bodil Paulsen, gave a brief about Kings Bay AS and Ny-Ålesund as a research community. Ms. Cecelie von Quillfeldt, Senior Advicer at Norwegian Polar Institute, gave a lecture about Climate change and polar research. The company visited the Marine Laboratory where polish researcers introduced them to the projects taking place at the moment. The visit also included a guided tour of the town before departure in the afternoon.
