On Tuesday 19 May, the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs from the Norwegian Parliamnet paid a short visit to Ny-Ålesund.

The party included 8 members of the commiittee and The Governor of Svalbard, Mr. Per Sefland. They were hosted by Research Adviser, Mr. Bendik Eithun Halgunset and Adviser, Ms. Bodil Paulsen. Presentations from both Kings Bay AS and from Norwegian Polar Institute were given, and there was also time for a quick tour around the premises before leaving for Longyearbyen on the Goveror's vessel "Nordsyssel".
