The last two summers The Goveror of Svalbard has engaged two carpenters:
Ellen Giskås and Mads Stavrum to carry out the restoration of the building on
Storholmen in Kongsfjorden.

The building was originally raised as a farm house for Ernst Mansfield in 1911,
in connection with the establishment of the marble guarry on Blomstrand.
Two gatherings of craftmenship has been arranged at Storholmen, and craftsmen
from Svalbard have participated. This years theme for the gathering was renovation
of preserved buildings and the making of paint. The instructors were Ellen Giskås
and Jorunn Garberg.
