On Friday 27. April Secretary Generals of various ministries and other members
of the official Norway visited Ny-Ålesund.

The delegation came from Longyearbyen with the Governor on Svalbard's
boat "Nordsyssel". They were met at the harbour by Kings Bay AS' Director,
Ole Øiseth. After a brief about Kings Bay AS and the community here, they
had a guided tour of the Marin Laboratory and the Info Center.

Briefs were also given at the Norwegian Mapping Authority, the French-German
station AWIPEV and at the Norwegian Polar Institute, were Are Bäcklund from
NILU, informed about the work taking place at the station up on the Zeppelin mountain.

Before leaving for Longyearbyen the group visited "Amundsenvillaen" where they
were told about the history and restoration of the villa.
